An organic produce and refill shop, The Grain Grocer has served the community on Northdown Road for around 8 years. Good food, community and ethical consumption have always been at the heart of this well-loved business. Offering plastic-free refills sourced from local cooperatives, The Grain Grocer are certainly doing their bit to encourage customers to say no to single-use plastic. The Grain Grocer offers a unique range of refillable products from oat milk in glass bottles, to peanut butter, superfood powders, herbs and spices, and olive oil. Bring your own containers (or find paper bags at the refill stations) and only buy exactly what you need. Nestled in the shop is a cozy cafe area, a perfect place to stop off and refuel with specialty coffee, juices, tonics, sweet and savoury bites, all made in-house using their organic produce.
Founder Katherine Hannah said "We've come to a point where we can't ignore that something needs to be done to change our wasteful consumer ways... if we all do our bit in being waste conscious, we can make a big difference!"
