Free Green Skills and Careers Workshops in Thanet

Free Green Skills and Careers Workshops in Thanet

3 Apr 2025

Calling all 16-25 year olds! Do you have a spare couple of hours on Friday 11th and/or Saturday 12th April?

Are you looking to upskill for the new green economy?

If so, come along to our new free two-day crash course in green careers!

A collaboration between Co-relate and Power of Women Thanet, you’ll learn what sustainability really is, get to meet industry professionals and, best of all, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge needed to start your career.

There really is no better opportunity to meet the climate crisis head on in your hometown.

Friday’s workshop is all about sustainability and the climate, and we’ll be discussing what sustainability jobs are and how to get one.

Saturday, at Marine Studios, in Margate, will help you to understand how to get involved with some fantastic local green organisations.

You’ll also get a tour of Sebastian Cox’s workshop, studio and showroom where you can see how heirloom furniture and a nature-first perspective can come together to create something unique.

Our lineup includes:

  • Rachel Cox, Climate Change Project Coordinator, Thanet District Council
  • Rosanagh Fuller, CEO, Power of Women Thanet
  • Lindsay Reynolds, Climate Change Manager at Thanet District Council
  • Ross Walker, Director, Bon Volks
  • Councillor Rob Yates, Margate Central Ward, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Climate Change
  • Sustainability 101 with Louisa Harris
  • Green Skills with Jessica Rose

Jessica Rose, director at Co-relate says:

"Green jobs and skills are terms we're hearing a lot but it's often not clear what they cover or how to get them. These workshops will introduce young people to the range of jobs and local organisations in this growing sector. As a pilot project, they're a chance for us to learn how best to bring young people and organisations together to understand the skills needed now and in the future."

We hope to see you there!

Places are free but limited. Sign up on our Eventbrite page.
